What’s going on at the Twyn, by Twyn pupils!
Our new topic is ‘Out and About.’ It has been great fun learning in school and also getting out and about in our local area. Reception went to Caerphilly Castle to have a look around. We found out about one of the finest castles in the world and reminded ourselves that something quite special is right on our doorstep. Nursery have been out and about enjoying safe fires (click on the words safe or fire for am/pm slideshows of the fires). It is important to learn about fire safety and that this powerful force of nature can be enjoyable when kept under careful control. Nursery children cooked marshmallows and Reception children had a go too, cooking dough sticks. Yum! Nursery and Reception will be getting out and about more over the coming term, trips are being planned and exciting adventures are to come! Why not have a look at what we have been doing…. http://www.twynschool.com/p_Class_pages_EY.ikml
Creaduriad Mawr a Bach
We are learning all about all creatures great and small and are really enjoying finding out about animals we have seen and even some that we have not seen before. We have been bringing in our pets to show our friends and teaching one another about how to look after them. We have created role play areas for us to have fun in, including the vets surgery and a jungle. There are so many exciting things happening in school and we are enjoying learning all sorts of things. Please visit our web pages and have a look at some of things we have been involved in…
School is closed today due to the heavy snow fall.
We are very sorry to announce that the school will be closed again on Friday.
The school is closed again today (Thursday) due to the weather . We expect to be open on Friday.
Due to snowfall and the complications that surround such an event, it is not possible for The Twyn School to open. Perhaps due to high demand for The Twyn School Website and its host site, it is not possible to access/update The Twyn School Website at this time. Please let others know and use this blog for updates. The Head Teacher has explained that school hopes be open tomorrow (7 January 2010).
Nursery
Friday 20th November was Robbie’s party. In the past two weeks we have been making preparations, which involved tasting cakes, making sandwiches, making cards, party hats, etc. The party was amazing! We danced…and danced, played party games, ate party food and just generally had a good time!!!!!
